The Manufacturing Futures Research Institute will lead Australian industry in the importance of design and its role within Industry 4.0. It will also investigate how design can, within the framework of Industry 4.0, add value to industry.
We are already working with top suppliers in Europe to build the world’s first Industry 4.0 Test lab for smart manufacture of fibre-reinforced composite parts.

Carbon-fibre reinforced composite manufacture
We have partnered with Australian manufacturers in the automotive sector and beyond.
Ongoing projects include a strategic collaboration with FORD Australia through FORD’s University Research Program. One three-year project seeks to develop ground-breaking expertise in automation of carbon-fibre reinforced composite manufacture, which feeds into our Industry 4.0 and innovation strategy.
