Associate Professor Elisabeth Lambert

Senior Research Fellow

‌Associate Professor Lambert is a Senior Research Fellow focusing on the area of chronic disease, in particular cardiovascular disease.

She gained expertise and recognition in this area while working at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute for 18 years. Her research program focused on understanding the physiology underpinning cardiometabolic risk factors in conditions such as hypertension, obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2-diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

She moved to Swinburne early in 2017 where she plans to use her expertise to investigate cardiovascular disease risk in people living with an intellectual disability, a vulnerable population that present with an unacceptably high level of morbidity and mortality and in people with anorexia nervosa, a psychiatric condition often associated with cardiac disease.
