About us

We aim to identify, understand and solve real-world health challenges across the human lifespan.

The Iverson will succeed through the development of strong collaborations and formation of sustainable local, national, and international partnerships. We strive to make improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of disease to enhance the quality of life of patients and their carers.

Our vision

The overarching vision of the Iverson Health Innovation Research Institute is to identify, understand and solve real-world health challenges across the human lifespan. Providing an evidence base for innovation in personalised healthcare, our institute will strategically cultivate connections from Swinburne, Victoria and across the globe, drawing on existing partnerships and forging new ones from research, industry and government.

Key project areas

  • ageing well and supportive care interventions
  • creating new knowledge and improving treatment of chronic disease and disability
  • developing bioengineering solutions for diagnostics, monitoring, disease prevention and therapy
  • designing and evaluating digital health systems for improved healthcare (including mHealth, eHealth, analytics, remote diagnostics)
  • health communications and health promotion.

We will be a crucible for developing the leaders of tomorrow. Links with Swinburne’s disciplines and departments will allow our talented researchers to participate in Iverson projects.

Swinburne is also investing in attracting the best talent to the institute and building world-class infrastructure in cell biology, bio-characterisation, and bio-imaging.
