Members of the Iverson Health Innovation Advisory board will offer advice, expertise and experience to assist the institute in achieving its vision, objectives and strategy. This includes matters relating to specific program themes, relevant industry/sectoral trends, policy, skills and training, business development and market intelligence.

Professor Mukesh Haikerwal AC

Professor Mukesh Haikerwal AC is a UK-trained physician specialising in General Practice in Melbourne. He has received a Companion of the Order of Australia, Australia's highest civilian honour, for eminent service to medical governance, administration, and technology, and to medicine, through leadership roles with a range of organisations, to education and the not-for-profit sector, and to the community of western Melbourne.

Sue MacLeman
Managing Director and CEO, MTPConnect

Sue has more than 25 years' experience as a pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology executive. MTPConnect is an independent not-for-profit championing a sector-led approach to accelerating the growth of the medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical (MTP) ecosystem in Australia. MTP was established under the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science Industry Growth Centres Initiative.

Chairman and Founder, Trajan Scientific and Medical

Stephen is the Chairman and Founder of Trajan Scientific and Medical with more than 350 staff worldwide. Trajan Scientific and Medical has research and development and production facilities in the USA, Malaysia and Australia focusing on scientific and medical devices that enhance and integrate analytical measurement capabilities.

Professor Ricky W Johnstone
Head of the Gene Regulation Laboratory, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

Professor Johnstone is a cancer researcher who has utilised genetic mouse models of hemopoietic malignancies and solid tumors to understand the epigenetic changes that underpin tumor onset and progression and to develop new therapies that target epigenetic and transcriptional regulatory proteins.

Nicola Watkinson
General Manager, the Americas, Australian Trade and Investment Commission

Nicola serves as Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for North America, as well as Toronto and Vancouver in Canada. Nicola is also the Deputy Consul General for Australia in New York for Latin America where she is responsible for teams across Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Brazil.

Laura Faulconer is a founder, investor and mentor in deep tech startups, intellectual property rich and bleeding edge opportunities. She is currently an early-stage venture capital investor with the New Zealand firm WNT Ventures.

Cameron is dedicated to managing and overseeing Enterprise Services and Solutions for Asia Pacific and Digital Services for Australia/New Zealand for Siemens Healthineers.

Anna Burgess
Director, Cancer, Specialty Programs, Medical Research & International Health, Department of Health & Human Services Victoria

Anna is responsible for cancer service delivery, cancer research, health and medical research and delivery of the Victorian Government’s strategies on international engagement in the health sector.

Director, Institute of Medical Research and Aikenhead Centre, St. Vincent’s Melbourne

Thomas is Chief Investigator A on an NHMRC Program Grant entitled Pathogenesis-based Treatment of Type 1 Diabetes and Secretary of the International Pancreas and Islet Transplant Association (IPITA).
