Selected major: Indigenous Studies

Indigenous ways of being and doing are being increasingly understood for not just their historical value, but for their place in contemporary society. This major provides a number of opportunities to learn such concepts and how to utilise them in future careers including the role of Indigenous Knowledges in a range of contemporary fields, and concepts of Indigenous entrepreneurship in today's world.

You’ll experience contemporary community organisations and the issues they face in the capstone unit to learn and adopt culturally safe practices which can be applied to your professional career.

Entrepreneurs are innovators. They see opportunities, anticipate needs, solve problems, make plans, take risks, and build teams.

Whether you’re hatching an idea, wanting to know how to launch your own venture, or looking to create competitive advantage within an existing organisation, this major provides the tools and knowledge.

With plenty of hands-on learning, you’ll develop the type of fresh thinking required to build, launch and scale a start-up business or social venture.

Discover how to differentiate an idea from a real opportunity, use innovation theory to maximise that opportunity, and learn how to create desirable, viable business models. 

Develop your strategic thinking and planning skills, explore business models, learn to interpret sales and marketing opportunities, build a team and source capital funding.
