Overview
This unit introduces students to the theory and practice of broadcast radio and podcast production by referencing the Australian broadcast radio industry. It investigates theoretical constructs underpinning radio production and broadcast, debates the merits of traditional radio broadcasting in a multi-platform environment and develops skills in the practical application of broadcast radio and podcast production

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Evaluate the importance of audience awareness in researching and planning an audio media product
- Integrate advanced research, planning and scripting skills when developing audio and podcasting stories
- Work in a collaborative environment to produce and edit live and pre-recorded audio stories
- Evaluate emerging digital media technologies for extension and innovation of audio and podcasting storytelling and production
- Demonstrate advanced practitioner skill in audio content creation by using industry standard technology and equipment to produce, present and edit high quality audio storytelling across broadcast and digital formats
