Registrations for professional placements beginning from Semester 1 2019 are now open.

Please note, Professional Placements are not available to postgraduate, Open University Australia (OUA) or Swinburne Online (SOL) students. Please contact your course coordinator for information on programs available to you.

How did you hear about professional placements?

Yes, I acknowledge that by taking a professional placement I will incur fees including $1500 for the WEIA placement unit and the relevant tuition fee for the IPPA/IPPB units (25 credit points per semester).

Yes, I acknowledge that whilst undertaking a professional placement I must remain enrolled in the WEI and IPP units (which require assessment tasks to be completed outside of placement working hours) for the entire duration of your placement. Failing to do this will result in being withdrawn from your placement.

Special needs, health conditions or disabilities

Are you aware of any disabilities and/or medical conditions (inclusive of psychological conditions) which may affect your ability to undertake a professional work placement? If yes and if you have not already done so, please notify AccessAbility Services. They will determine if any assistance is available to you, and advise the Professional Placements team in negotiating reasonable adjustments in the workplace if necessary. Please note: If you fail to inform Professional Placements of any special needs, health conditions or disabilities that may affect your placement, then Swinburne reserves the right to make alternative arrangements to accommodate the reasonable requirements of the placement, industry partner or organisation, which may include altering the terms of your placement or requiring you to withdraw from the placement altogether.

Privacy and health records

If you obtain a professional placement, you agree to Swinburne (through Professional Placements) providing relevant personal and health information to the industry partner or organisation for the purposes of facilitating your placement.

Swinburne acknowledges and respects your privacy. We collect, store, use, update, disclose and dispose of all personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Act (Vic.) 2000, the Health Records Act (Vic.) 2001 and Swinburne's Privacy Policy.
