General Information
Overview
The Master of Business Administration focuses on leadership and change, innovation and entrepreneurship, finance, ethical practices and social responsibility. It equips students with the capacity to start new ventures or initiate organisational improvements successfully by building on authentic learning experiences and solutions-driven business scenarios. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain holistic management and business knowledge which prepares them for general management roles. The course design also allows the choice of electives to complete a related business specialisation such as supply chain management, project management and human resource management. Through the partnership with the Institute of Managers and Leaders, opportunities exist to participate in industry workshops, business case studies, mentoring, and personalised professional development
Study structure
Successful completion of the Master of Business Administration requires students to complete units of study to the value of 200 credit points. All units of study are valued at 12.5 credit points unless otherwise stated.
- Full-time study: 100 credit points/eight standard units of study per year
- Part-time study: 50 credit points/four standard units of study per year
- One credit point is equivalent to one hour of study per week per semester (including contact hours and private study)

Learning outcomes
At the completion of the Master of Business Administration, graduates will be able to:
- Apply coherent and advanced knowledge of business concepts in diverse contexts and applications using critical thinking
- Apply problem solving, design and decision making methodologies to identify and provide innovative solutions to complex problems with intellectual independence
- Communicate proficiently in professional practice to a variety of audiences, function as an effective member or leader of a team, and use advanced tools and practices of business within project work
- Develop legal, ethical, and social frameworks to support diversity and equity regarding gender, Indigeneity, and cultural diversity using authentic business content in a global and sustainable context
- Apply business fundamentals to the analysis, design and operation of a business model using appropriate business methods and tools, applied in a variety of contexts
- Reflect on, and take responsibility for, learning and self-management processes
- Apply knowledge of research principles and methods to plan and execute a piece of research with some independence

Graduates can accelerate their careers in general and specialist management roles as they have skills that are critical to the future of work such as problem solving, strategic decision making, teamwork, critical thinking, managerial and technical skills. They will be well prepared for ever more complex and uncertain business environments.
Course rules
To qualify for the award of Master of Business Administration students must complete 16 (or equivalent) units (200 credit points) comprising:
- four [4] foundation units (50 credit points)
- eight [8] core units (100 credit points)
- four [4] units comprising one specialisation or 4 elective units (50 credit points)

Professional recognition
The Master of Business Administration is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. The alumni of AACSB accredited business schools are among the world’s most influential leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs impacting business, government, and non-profit sectors. Only the top six per cent of business schools worldwide are AACSB accredited.
Maximum Academic Credit
The maximum level of credit that can be granted for the Master of Business Administration is 100 credit points (normally 8 units). The exception to this rule is for students entering with a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration who may be granted up to 125 credit points of advanced standing (normally ten units).
