The Swinburne Advantage
We turn knowing into know-how
We believe an undergraduate education must be about more than knowledge. In today’s competitive job market, it must be about true job readiness.
For over 50 years, Swinburne has been partnering with leading Australian and global organisations to offer students authentic workplace experiences. It’s your chance to work on real industry projects, solve day-to-day challenges in your field and gain the professional skills that put knowledge into practice. It’s what we call the Swinburne Advantage.
You’ll build invaluable skills and confidence in knowing you have what it takes to land a job in your field by graduation; or even before, with the possibility of continuing employment while completing your degree part-time.
The Swinburne Advantage is available to all new undergraduates. It’s just a matter of choosing the opportunity that suits your future.
Degrees that will enhance your transition out of university and into a career of your choice.
Professional Placements and Internships
Working professionals in your field can be the best teachers for your future career. That’s why our professional placements and internships pair you with a leading employer in your area of study. You’ll receive credit toward your degree, professional skills and a real-life overview of your potential future – from the experts themselves.
Take on a real-life industry or community project for one semester. Team-based challenges may include competitions, research projects or internal briefs, either onsite or your choice of location. You’ll earn credit for your degree while developing your investigative capabilities to the fullest.
Accreditation placements are compulsory in many degrees with specific skillsets. These placements may be paid and/or credit-bearing. Either way, you’ll finish knowing you have the professional experience you need to become professionally accredited for the career you want.
