Updates to your Results and Grade Point Average (GPA)

Semester 1 Higher Education results are officially released on Tuesday 14 July 2020. Students who fail in this current teaching period (after 1 April 2020) will not have their fail grades recorded on their official academic transcript. Fail grades will not have an impact on your GPA. Find out more.

In addition, students will be able to request to have other passed results achieved after 1 April 2020 omitted from their GPA calculation.

Results and Grade Point Average (GPA)

The university is committed to supporting students through their studies throughout the COVID-19 situation.

We understand the current circumstances will provide additional challenges for many students. We want to minimise the impact on our students, so higher education students who fail this semester will not have their fail grades recorded on their academic transcript, and any fail grades this semester will not have an impact on their grade point average (GPA). There will be no change to how we publish other pass grades. This arrangement applies to results for all studies completed at Swinburne teaching locations during teaching periods or semesters that have transitioned to online delivery due to COVID-19.

These measures ensure that Swinburne's academic standards are maintained whilst helping students who have their studies disrupted by the COVID-19 situation.

Read our answers to FAQs about results for units affected by the current COVID-19 situation.

You will be given a copy of your academic transcript with your graduation documents.

If you require a copy of your transcript prior to graduation, you can order and pay for a digital transcript online, anytime. Digital transcripts ordered online are available within 24 hours through My eQuals.

Before you order, please check My Results and result release dates – official transcripts only display results that have been officially released at the time of ordering.

If you’re an international student and need confirmation that your course has been completed prior to your graduation ceremony, submit a letter of completion request.

Finishing your course

If you’ve completed all of the requirements for your course, congratulations! If you’re not sure if you've finished your course or haven’t received a graduation notice, contact studentHQ. We can’t release your results or let you graduate until you've paid any outstanding fees and fines.
