Swinburne's Master of Aviation prepares you for aviation management and leadership roles with a focus on aviation safety behaviours. This aviation masters program is designed specifically for personnel currently involved in aviation looking to upgrade their skills in human factors in aviation management at a tertiary level.
This postgraduate course investigates emerging aviation industry challenges and how established models can be used to create innovative solutions to aviation safety. You will learn to review aviation safety reporting, apply theoretical knowledge and reflect critically on professional aviation industry practices surrounding human factors in aviation accidents. Develop an outlook that will set you in good stead for leadership and mentoring roles, and demonstrate high-level responsibility and accountability.
Upon graduation, you will be prepared to adapt to an evolving industry landscape, and take on roles such as airline or airport manager, flight or ground operator, and aviation safety authority. In addition, you will have skills that can be applied across a range of other resilient organisations and industries, including transport, supply chain and health.

- 7 Core units (87.5 credit points)
- 1 dissertation unit (Human Factors Specialisation or Aviation Management (25 credit points)
- 3 x Elective units (37.5 credit points)
Maximum Academic Credit
The maximum level of credit that can be granted for the Master of Aviation award is 75 credit points (normally 6 units), this is based on exit award requirements of 150 credit points.

How do I pay my fees?
FEE-HELP is a loan given to eligible full-fee paying higher education students to help pay part or all of their tuition fees. The Commonwealth Government pays the amount of the loan directly to Swinburne.
HECS-HELP is a loan and discount scheme available to eligible students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place. A HECS-HELP loan can cover all or part of the student contribution amount.
The total tuition fee is dependent upon the combination of units of study selected by the student. Fees are reviewed each year. Find out more about fees.
