Members of our advisory board offer advice, expertise and experience to assist the Data Science Research Insitute in achieving its vision, objectives and strategy. This includes matters relating to specific program themes, relevant industry and sectoral trends, policy, skills and training, business development and market intelligence.
Amy Shi-Nash is an executive leader with a proven track record of creating value and competitive advantage through data-driven culture and innovation. She is currently the General Manager of Group Data Science at Commonwealth Bank.
S. George Djorgovski is a Professor of Astronomy and Director of the Center for Data-Driven Discovery at Caltech, and the Director of the Meta-Institute for Computational Astrophysics.
Peter Leihn is Commercial Director for Data61 Australia, the digital innovation business unit of the Australian Government R&D organisation CSIRO.
Dr Geok Leng Tan is the current CEO of AiDA Technologies, a high-tech start-up focusing on artificial intelligence driven analytics. Before that he was appointed Senior Fellow of A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research).
Isar Mazer is responsible for SEEK's international businesses across both employment and education outside Australia and New Zealand as well as driving operational collaboration across SEEK's assets, including global product and technology initiatives.
Tova Milo is a full Professor of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on web data management.
John Paitaridis leads Optus’s enterprise, business and government organisation accountable for all aspects of sales, marketing, products, operations and service delivery.
Brad Petry is the Assistant Director of the Victorian Centre for Data Insights (VCDI), leading the development of data science and analytics capability to support government decision-making and drive public sector reform.
Raghu Ramakrishnan is a Technical Fellow and CTO for Data at Microsoft. He also heads engineering for Big Data platforms and services.
Chris Riquier’s current appointments include CEO International of Data Empowered Consultancy at Illuminera and Non-Executive Director roles at Foxley and Ethnotek, which draw on his leadership, finance, talent and digital transformation capabilities.
