The George Alexander Foundation Scholarship 2027

The George Alexander Foundation Scholarships support commencing, full time, undergraduate students relocating from rural/regional areas to study at Swinburne University, who demonstrate strong academic merit, leadership potential, and a passion for community involvement.

The George Alexander Foundation was established in 1972 by the late industrialist and philanthropist, Mr George Alexander AM, to assist talented students achieve their potential and go on to contribute to the Australian community.

Applications must:

• be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
• demonstrate need to relocate in order to undertake tertiary study.
  

• a commencing first year Swinburne student in Semester 1, 2027
• enrolled full-time in any Swinburne undergraduate course
• studying on-campus.

• Achieved a minimum ATAR of 80.00
• Participated in community activities.

ATAR certificate

Provide your ATAR certificate as evidence.

Note: For current Year 12 students, you don’t need to wait until you have received your ATAR to apply. Once you have received your ATAR, please send through a copy of your ATAR certificate to scholarship@swinburne.edu.au to complete your application.

Relocation

Provide evidence of having to reside away from home in order to undertake tertiary study.

Community service

Provide evidence of community service, including extra-curricular service to the community, sporting participation, and/or leadership qualities, which can be provided via:

• reference letters
• certificate of participation
• other appropriate independent supporting documentation.

Curriculum vitae (CV)

Provide a copy of your curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages).

Written reference

Provide two written references, one for each of the below categories:

• Academic reference: from a person qualified to comment on your academic studies, preferably a subject coordinator from your secondary school and/or your school principal.
• Character reference: from a current or past employer or a person competent to supply a character reference (for example, a person with whom you have undertaken community service, sporting or volunteer activities.

Note: referees cannot be a family member or friend.
