Overview

This unit aims to introduce educators to outcomes-based educational approaches by exploring the development and use of unit learning outcomes; support the design of inclusive and engaging learning activities using a variety of digital media and universal design principles; and promote the evaluation of learning activities to ensure alignment with curriculum components and support ethical, evidence-based curriculum renewal.

Unit learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  1. Articulate the key elements of course design to demonstrate understanding of how these components support student learning
  2. Review and redesign learning activities that promote student engagement across diverse cohorts
  3. Justify diverse pedagogical approaches and delivery modes utilising appropriate strategies and digital technologies
  4. Critically examine and reflect on teaching philosophy and evidence-based teaching to inform decision making on practice
