Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  1. Identify various types of building services and explain their functions to maintain acceptable conditions within buildings
  2. Comprehend the requirements for installation and commissioning of building services
  3. Analyse design documentation of building services and carry out on-site inspections to assess their compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  4. Describe the functionality of building management systems (BMS) to monitor and control the operation of building services
  5. Analyse the sustainability status of building services and suggest strategies to improve
