Digital Coordination and Communication in Construction
Overview
The aim of this unit is to provide students with broad knowledge and skills regarding BIM and other digital technologies for construction management aspects focused on documentation, communication, constructability review and analysis in construction projects.

Unit learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Explain the principles and functions of a Common Data Environment (CDE) within Building Information Modelling (BIM).
- Establish and use Common Data Environment (CDE) for communication and collaboration in construction projects.
- Use International BIM standards to produce necessary BIM documentation and manage information requirements at various stages of a construction project
- Apply BIM coordination processes to integrate multidisciplinary models and facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders
- Review and analyse constructability issues using BIM and other digital technologies, including augmented/ virtual/ mixed reality (AR/VR/MR)
