General Information

Overview

The Associate Degree in Applied Engineering is an engineering and digital technologies course designed to prepare students for the profession as a para-professional engineer or technologist in the context of Industry 4.0, as well as provide a pathway for graduates to articulate into a degree course. The course content has been developed through University and Industry partnerships and is designed to equip learners with both technical and professional skills.

The course develops knowledge and practical problem-solving skills through an approach of real-world complex problem solving in collaborative teams. It includes innovation and entrepreneurship skills applied to product lifecycle management from design and production to system management.

Study structure

The Associate Degree in Applied Engineering consists of 16 units of study (200 credit points). Units normally carry 12.5 credit points.

  • Full-time study: 100 credit points/eight standard units of study per year

  • Part-time study: 50 credit points/four standard units of study per year
