Predictive Engineering Analytics
130 Hours
One Semester or equivalent
Hawthorn
Overview
This unit of study aims to cover the skills and knowledge required to analyse and perform predictive analytics using multi-disciplinary engineering simulation techniques. The student will learn to research and use emerging technologies including 1D simulation, 3D computer-aided engineering (CAE) to analyse, design and manufacture a product using an engineering system.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Apply mathematics to perform predictive engineering analysis
- Apply the principles of physics to analyse functional performance of engineering components and subsystems
- Design, manufacture and test an engineering system, using 1D Simulation and 3D Computer-aided Engineering (CAE) techniques
- Research common failures of engineering components and develop a systematic approach to monitoring an engineering system as a group.
