Overview

This unit aims to have a capstone coverage of integrated management of whole construction project from planning, estimating and tendering and contracting, and achieving performance objectives such as costs, schedule, quality, safety and environmental sustainability.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Prepare and evaluate estimates and bids/ tenders for construction projects
  • Use metrics/tools for controlling costs and provide advice to clients/ stakeholders with cost reports and value optimisation agenda
  • Formulate and evaluate contractual and payment frameworks in different construction project procurement arrangements
  • Develop integrated cost and schedule analyses for resource optimisation and enhanced value
  • Develop and evaluate construction management systems and practical procedures/ methods
