From the outset, Swinburne’s Bachelor of Business challenges you to be innovative, to make a positive social impact and, to be clear on how you can contribute as an individual and as part of a team in government, for-profit and for-purpose businesses.
Select a major area of specialisation and combine it with your core business studies to become an entrepreneurial thinker and business innovator.
Build up your CV with real industry experience while you study through our Work Integrated Learning programs, which are a guaranteed part of all our bachelor degrees and can include placements, internships or industry-linked projects.
In this degree’s Industry Consulting Project (BUS30009), one of our industry partners will put forward a real problem. Finding solutions will require you to put what you’ve learned into practice. You’ll team up with other students to analyse the issue and propose solutions back to your client.
Advanced Business Practice (BUS30024) teaches you to tackle problems and opportunities with holistic thinking. In this unit, you’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team to find innovative, creative, and practical business solutions, that also consider ethical business practices and sustainability goals.

Scoring an internship and career with Richmond Football Club
When Grace took on an internship at Richmond Football Club while completing her Bachelor of Business she did more than gain crucial work experience, she kick-started her career.
While still studying I got into a vacation program at KPMG, in its risk consulting division. I had little idea of what I was getting into but had an incredible experience. I took a graduate offer and now work there in a Data Analytics role. There’s no way I could’ve predicted where I am now just a few short years ago.

Women in Finance and Economics Scholarship Program
The purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage and assist women to enter, re-enter and achieve leadership roles across the financial services industry.
The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) is the primary membership organisation for financial planning practitioners who want to master the practice of financial planning, and who are committed to shaping the future of the profession.
Make sure you check out the available scholarships. They became a really good goal for me during Year 12 and are achievable if you put in the hard work. I also recommend coming to Open Day – you can ask questions (even silly ones!) and get answers from current students.
