Overview

This course supports candidates who do not yet meet entry requirements for the Bachelor of Education by helping them develop essential academic skills, particularly in language, literacy, and numeracy. It prepares students for LANTITE assessments required in the Bachelor program while also introducing key teaching attributes and ways to support diverse learners. Designed to widen access to teaching, the diploma benefits mature-age learners, returning parents, and students from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Although it does not provide teacher registration, graduates who achieve a credit average may qualify for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching as an Initial Teacher Education course graduate, enabling their pathway into a Bachelor of Education.
