Looking for an unforgettable international experience during your summer break? Join our partner university, ESSCA School of Management, for a two-week program in either Budapest or Paris, combining academic learning with cultural immersion in two of Europe's most iconic cities.

Discover the vibrant city of Budapest, where historic architecture, world-famous thermal baths, bustling markets, charming cafes, and a dynamic nightlife scene come together along the banks of the Danube River. Based at ESSCA's Budapest campus, this program offers Business undergraduate students the opportunity to experience Central European culture while gaining international academic experience in one of Europe's most affordable and exciting capital cities.

Immerse yourself in the world capital of luxury with ESSCA's Luxury Marketing & Consumer Experience program in Paris. Designed for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, this two-week program explores the fundamentals of luxury marketing, consumer behaviour, customer experience, and luxury brand management through a unique blend of academic study and cultural discovery.

This short-term exchange program will allow you to use your Summer break productively by earning credit for one full unit in only two short weeks, whilst you gain invaluable skills and knowledge within the business and marketing world.

All classes are taught in English and you will spend your time learning and immersing yourself within the beautiful city of Budapest or Paris, as part of a very internationally active program with students from all over the world.

You may choose one course between the two different locations:

Budapest, Hungary 
  • International Marketing & Crisis Management; or
  • CSR & Humanistic Management

Open to Undergraduate Business students.

or Paris, France
  • Luxury Marketing & Consumer Experience

Open to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from different study areas.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for this program, students must:

  • be enrolled into an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree (depending on program)
  • meet the overseas exchange program eligibility requirements
  • meet any pre-requisites listed by the host institution and for the courses you choose
     

Academic credit

Each course programme (pairings) are worth 7.5 ECTS each. Therefore, completion of the program will earn you 7.5 ECTS.

You are able to take this program as credit for one of your elective units. Alternatively, you may be able to use core units for this program, subject to approval from your Course Director.

Credit equivalence

7.5 ECTS = 12.5 CP (1 unit) at Swinburne.

This program cost is paid to the host institution and may include the following:

  • Accommodation
  • Welcome and farewell social events
  • Company and cultural visits
  • Course materials
  • A 55€ non refundable administration fee (Paris)
     

The host university will be able to provide further information upon application.

Note: Tuition fees to the host university are waived for students completing a short-term exchange program at one of our partner universities. You will continue to pay your regular tuition fees to Swinburne while you are on the program. There may be other program costs incurred outside of tuition fees, including living expenses, airfares, and visas (if applicable).

Funding

Funding your overseas journey may be easier than you think

OS-HELP Loan

Eligible Australian students can also apply for an Australian Government OS-HELP Loan of A$8,422 for study outside of Asia (2026 amount) to help cover costs associated with your overseas program.

Students must first apply to Swinburne Abroad following the short-term exchange application process. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis.
