About the scholarship

Summary

Medibank works to create Better Health for Better Lives by providing the best health and wellbeing experience for people across Australia.

Through the Medibank Next_Gen Scholarships, Medibank will support international students who are innovative, driven, globally minded, and motivated by a desire to create change and solve real world problems.

Medibank Next_Gen Scholarships are open to international students in their second year or above of an undergraduate degree, or enrolled in a master’s degree, who can demonstrate community involvement and/or leadership experience.

Successful applicants will also be invited for an Industry Immersion session at Medibank Head Office, which will include a guided tour of the building, insights into Medibank’s ways of working, company values and purpose and invited to take part in a focus group to inform how we develop our services to students.

Eligibility

Applicatants must:

  • be an International student

Students receiving a Swinburne International Scholarship are welcome to apply

Enrolment criteria

Applicatants must be:

  • an undergraduate student in second year or above, or a master's student at Swinburne in Semester 1, 2027
  • enrolled full-time in any undergraduate or masters course offered by Swinburne University
  • studying on campus

Supporting documentation

Personal Statement

Submit a personal statement of up to 500 words, or a 2 minute video, addressing:

  • your interest and commitment to study
  • your involvement with university life, community participation and/or leadership experience
  • how Medibank’s values of ‘Customer obsessed’, ‘Show Heart’, ‘Brilliance Together’, and ‘Break Boundaries’ align to your personal values.

    Upload your video to cloud based storage (google drive/one drive/drop box) and provide the link in a MS Word or PDF document. Ensure the video is downloadable by anyone and not access restricted.

Student response statement

Submit a written response answering the following two questions:

  • As an international student, what does health and well-being mean to you personally?
  • How do you think Medibank can best support international students in maintaining their health and well-being during their time in Australia?

Community and leadership abilities

Provide supporting evidence outlining any university and/or community participation, extra-curricular activities, service to the community, sporting participation and/or leadership experience.
