Overview

The aim of the research program in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) course is to enhance students' awareness of the importance of a scientific research base for the practice of clinical psychology, to consolidate students' practical understanding of research methodology related to clinical psychology, and to teach appropriate research design and clinical analysis skills.

PSY80090 Research Project (Clinical) B2 is the last of the four research units (PSY70008, PSY70009, PSY80089, PSY80090) in the course.

This unit facilitates the student's knowledge and skills in critical writing, data presentation, and critical reasoning regarding their own research.

Unit learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
 

  1. Apply specialised cognitive and technical skills in psychological practice to independently and critically analyse, reflect on, and synthesise complex information, problems, concepts and theories
  2. Communicate research project findings in a scientific and professional manner in a written research output
  3. Work collaboratively with a supervisor to complete a research project.
