Unit learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  1. Critically review, adapt and implement advanced knowledge, skills and clinical reasoning in the examination and management of musculoskeletal conditions/ injuries related to sports and exercise physiotherapy across a range of sports
  2. Critically appraise the role of common pharmacological interventions used in the management of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, including indications for prescription, mechanisms of action, and potential adverse effects.
  3. Explain the role of food and nutrition in the prevention and management of musculoskeletal conditions/ injuries
  4. Apply advanced neuromusculoskeletal assessment skills in the examination of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries related to sports and exercise physiotherapy
