Overview

This unit will advance and consolidate students’ understanding of techniques and parameters essential to virtual reality. Students will apply storytelling knowledge to the creation and mastering of virtual reality media assets, employing and evaluating effective storytelling strategies for distributing virtual reality works.

Unit learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  1. Evaluate virtual reality storytelling through viewing, reading, research, and application-testing
  2. Develop a critical understanding of the role of VR distribution for creative industries sectors
  3. Produce widely accessible VR content through planned, informed, and competent production and post-production processes
  4. Assess and select different storytelling methods of VR production suitable for specific self-authored creative works
  5. Further develop VR skills in project management for creative industries
