This unit aims to develop fundamental knowledge and skills of employing Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other digital technologies for construction management aspects. The unit focuses on 4D/5D, collaboration and coordiation in construction projects.

Unit learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  1. Describe, designate and demonstrate the roles and responsibilities of BIM coordinator when using digital technologies in construction projects
  2. Identify, associate and utilise BIM tools and software when managing construction projects
  3. Create, interpret and integrate 3D BIM models when undertaking visualisation of construction projects
  4. Plan and produce static schedules using 4D BIM when managing construction projects
  5. Plan and produce cost estimation using 5D BIM when managing construction projects
  6. Employ BIM when coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders on construction projects
