This unit aims to develop fundamental knowledge and skills of employing Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other digital technologies for construction management aspects. The unit focuses on 4D/5D, collaboration and coordiation in construction projects.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Describe, designate and demonstrate the roles and responsibilities of BIM coordinator when using digital technologies in construction projects
  • Identify, associate and utilise BIM tools and software when managing construction projects
  • Create, interpret and integrate 3D BIM models when undertaking visualisation of construction projects
  • Plan and produce static schedules using 4D BIM when managing construction projects
  • Plan and produce cost estimation using 5D BIM when managing construction projects
  • Employ BIM when coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders on construction projects
