Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Review building and infrastructure plans and identify key elements, materials and components for construction
- Explain the process involved in the preparation, organisation and management of a construction site
- Determine requirements of Australian Standards, National Construction Code (NCC), planning permits and other regulatory process in construction
- Apply basic principles of building science to assess stability and function of buildings
- Identify the various professional roles and describe their respective responsibilities throughout the construction process
