Overview

This unit aims to develop students’ capability to plan, coordinate, and monitor projects in organisational contexts using structured project management approaches, tools, and performance measures. Students will learn how to scope projects, develop schedules and resource plans, manage risks, and evaluate project performance against organisational objectives. The unit emphasises disciplined project delivery, evidence-based decision-making, and the practical use of project management software in contemporary workplace settings

Unit learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  1. Determine the role of project planning and delivery as a professional capability within organisational contexts
  2. Evaluate and apply appropriate project planning approaches to suit diverse organisational contexts, project requirements, and support effective project delivery
  3. Work effectively within a team to develop project artefacts, including scope documents, schedules, resource plans, and cost baselines, using appropriate tools and industry standard software
  4. Apply project monitoring and performance measures to evaluate progress, analyse project risks, constraints, dependencies, and recommend mitigation and control strategies
  5. Demonstrate certifications and competence in industry best-practice project planning and delivery
