Unit learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  1. Explain the aerodynamic, engineering and human factors that affects flying operations at the Air Transport Pilot Level
  2. Describe the operational limitations of both aircraft and human beings at the Air Transport Pilot Level
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the unit content sufficient to pass the CASA Air Transport Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) Theory Examinations for Aerodynamics & Aircraft Systems and Human Factors

Content

This unit of study satisfies the theoretical knowledge requirements specified in the CASA Part 61 MOS for two of the seven subjects required for the award of an Air Transport Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) by CASA. It consists of the following areas of aviation theoretical knowledge:

  • Aerodynamics & Aircraft Systems
  • Human Factors (including Threat & Error Management)
