Overview
This unit will provide students with knowledge and skills related to strategic management of airlines and airports, including airport facilities, effective Design and function, airport and airline key business models, mechanisms and drivers, inter-relationship between airports and airlines, operational planning requirements and practice.

Unit learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Identify and discern between airside and landside features of airport facilities, with a focus on their functions and the needs of diverse users and communities
- Clarify operational efficiencies and inefficiencies of airport operations
- Explain and discuss the impacts of operational constraints an airport has on airline operations
- Identify and evaluate the key performance indicators of airport and airline businesses
- Analyse the factors contributing to network schedule demands
- Construct an airline schedule using appropriate software
- Demonstrate and apply initiative, creativity and reflective thinking in a team environment to achieve business priorities required in the practical components of the unit
