Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Select an appropriate research design, critically evaluate scientific literature and correctly interpret physiological data
  • Articulate the multifaceted components associated with fatigue and recovery
  • Design and select appropriate equipment and conduct a safe and ethical evidence-based project to demonstrate an understanding of how ergogenic aids, technologies or environmental conditions can affect physiological outcomes associated with health or sport
  • Apply knowledge of the physiological responses to acute exercise and the adaptations to chronic exercise to provide a rationale for the provision of exercise programs to improve and maintain specific aspects of health, fitness and performance
