Overview
This unit gives students an understanding of the different lighting methods required for location photography. New lighting techniques specifically for location purposes will be introduced and explored. Students will learn the different lighting requirements for confined spaces to larger arenas. They will learn about the need for permissions, restrictions, OH&S and model releases when planning and organizing a photography shoot outside the studio.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Apply relevant knowledge of OH&S issues and preparations required for a location assignment that includes all permissions, permits and model releases
- Evaluate the different lighting techniques required for different purposes in the studio or on location
- Review and compare images from a variety of locations and incorporating post production skills
- Produce a series of images that respond to a brief for location photography
