Overview

This unit aims to develop students' professional attributes and fine-tune their industry and design skills in preparation for graduate employment. It will provide students with an opportunity to improve their entrepreneurial skills, develop their digital presentation skills, gain project management and interpersonal skills, and design ethically. Students will develop capability to build a professional design portfolio, which can be used to gain employment. This unit will also aim to provide management skills during the organisation of the graduate exhibition in which each student will have a role in organising the exhibition.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Identify and assess gaps in their current body of work and address these gaps with individual project activities
  • Prepare and present high quality portfolio imagery that can be used for future promotions
  • Develop, plan and execute a professional portfolio for graduate employment
  • Assess and independently critique project outcomes in relation to the specified employment opportunities
  • Review past achievements to identify a personal and professional narrative to inform portfolio development
