Fees

Fees are payable at the time of your enrolment for each semester.

There are two types of fees payable for postgraduate study: tuition fees and a Student Services and Amenities fee.

The Student Services and Amenities fee is paid yearly. It gives you access to a variety of services such as careers and employment advice, workshop presentations and counselling.

You may also need to allow for the purchase of books or equipment.

Fees are reviewed each year and may increase without notice.

Fee payment options

There are three tuition fee payment options at Swinburne:

  • pay the full tuition fee up-front – that is, by the due date each teaching period
  • pay some of the tuition fee up-front and request a FEE-HELP loan for the remainder of the fee
  • request a FEE-HELP loan for the full tuition fee.

Commonwealth supported places

Commonwealth supported places (CSP) are available for some Swinburne postgraduate programs.

Accounting

Education

Engineering

Information and Communication Technologies

Forensic Science

Psychology

If you are enrolled in one of these programs, you are only required to contribute part of the cost of your course (your Student Contribution Amount). This amount may be deferred via a FEE-HELP loan, should eligibility be met.

For more information about CSP, contact us at postgrad@swinburne.edu.au or call 1300 275 794.

Fee payment assistance

FEE-HELP

Financial assistance is available in the form of the Commonwealth Government’s FEE-HELP program.

FEE-HELP is a Commonwealth Government loan scheme through which you can defer the payment of some or all of your tuition fees. When your income reaches a certain repayment threshold the debt is repaid through the tax system.

You may also be able to receive assistance with the Student Services and Amenities fee.

Employer assistance

Many employers have study support policies that include financial and other support. Speak to your employer to find out if you are eligible to receive such assistance during your postgraduate studies.
