Fees are payable at the time of your enrolment for each semester.
There are two types of fees payable for postgraduate study: tuition fees and a Student Services and Amenities fee.
The Student Services and Amenities fee is paid yearly. It gives you access to a variety of services such as careers and employment advice, workshop presentations and counselling.
You may also need to allow for the purchase of books or equipment.
Fees are reviewed each year and may increase without notice.
Fee payment options
There are three tuition fee payment options at Swinburne:
- pay the full tuition fee up-front – that is, by the due date each teaching period
- pay some of the tuition fee up-front and request a FEE-HELP loan for the remainder of the fee
- request a FEE-HELP loan for the full tuition fee.
Commonwealth supported places (CSP) are available for some Swinburne postgraduate programs.

Fee payment assistance
Financial assistance is available in the form of the Commonwealth Government’s FEE-HELP program.
FEE-HELP is a Commonwealth Government loan scheme through which you can defer the payment of some or all of your tuition fees. When your income reaches a certain repayment threshold the debt is repaid through the tax system.
You may also be able to receive assistance with the Student Services and Amenities fee.
Many employers have study support policies that include financial and other support. Speak to your employer to find out if you are eligible to receive such assistance during your postgraduate studies.
