Aims and objectives

This unit provides an understanding and appreciation of the management of the supply chain, including critiquing global supply chain management principles and practices. The program develops core leadership, team work and management competencies required by contemporary supply chain managers and their organisations.

After successfully completing this unit, you will be able to:

1. Critically analyse the role of supply chain management in achieving organisational goals.
2. Apply a framework to model the supply chain from purchasing through production to distribution.
3. Critically analyse the interactions between partner organisations in a supply network.
4. Demonstrate developed knowledge of the principles of supply chain management in the local and global context.
