Aims and objectives

The unit will now be 0 credit point. The content and assessment tasks will remain the same as previous unit with different code (EDU60015 Supervised Professional Experience 1). This non-credited professional experience unit will be undertaken at the same time as EDU70007 English in Primary School. The portfolio for EDU60044 will be assessed as part of EDU70007 English in Primary School. The report for EDU60044 will be completed by the supervising teacher. There will be no marking costs associated with EDU60044.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Discuss and analyse curriculum documents and resources in relation to effective teaching and learning and contribute to the planning and implementation of learning experiences.
2. Demonstrate professional and caring relationships with education professionals, students and families, with acknowledgement of the role of the learning environment.
3. Discuss, analyse and begin to use a range of teaching and assessment strategies.
4. Demonstrate professional behaviour in accordance with the standards, codes and policies relevant to the school setting.
5. Critically reflect upon teaching and learning experiences, including the role of the learning environment.
6. Examine and apply pedagogical approaches that can be effectively integrated into education programs to identify the cultural identity and linguistic background of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
