Aims and objectives

To provide students with the required aviation theoretical knowledge for the Private Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) as detailed in the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 61 Manual of Standards (MOS).

Unit Learning Outcomes (ULOs):

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

1. Explain the legal, engineering, aerodynamic, environmental and human factors that affect
flying operations at the Private Pilot Level;
2. Safely and accurately apply theoretical knowledge to flying operations at the Private Pilot Level; an
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the unit content sufficient to pass the CASA Private Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) Theory Examination.
