Content

The internship will generally involve students working on a specific project in a workplace for up to 192 hours, or two days per week for a 12-week semester period. Projects will be carried out under the supervision of an industry professional with additional supervision provided by an academic staff member. Project activities may take various forms involving product or system design and development, research and development projects, business analysis, testing, and user liaison among others.

Internship projects are typically unpaid and form part of an academic program of study with academic credit.

The unit prepares students for transition to professional practice and careers in the current and future world of work. Students will engage in and recognise and reflect on professional, ethical, sustainable, and inclusive practices in their workplace. This unit will support the development of students' professional capabilities and career management through observation, participation, and reflection in a range of work-integrated learning tasks and assessments.
