Designing the Cloud
Duration
- One Semester or equivalent
Contact hours
- 112 Hours
On-campus unit delivery combines face-to-face and digital learning.
Aims and objectives
This unit prepares students to under the principles of designing and implementing well-architected cloud infrastructure. Students will learn about cloud infrastructure design and patterns, availability zones, load-balancing and fault tolerance, scalability, automation of infrastructure, data management, security and cost of ownership.
Unit Learning Outcomes (ULO)
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Understand and implement systems design in the development of cloud infrastructure.
2. Implement event-driven and automated practices in the Cloud
3. Prepare infrastructure for deployment and implementation processes
4. Apply well-architected practices into the developed solution
5. Optimize and manage total costs for the enterprise
