The Unit aims to equip the students with the knowledge and hands-on skills of planning and designing a research project that addresses industry issues and public concerns and developing an action plan to accomplish the research.

  • Identify an issue in aviation science that enables in-depth research to be conducted
  • Formulate and define research question(s)
  • Justify the rationale of undertaking the research
  • Determine the research methodology appropriate for data collection and analysis
  • Develop an action plan to accomplish the research within timeline

Hurdle

As the minimum requirements of assessment to pass a unit and meet all ULOs to a minimum standard, an undergraduate student must have achieved:

an aggregate mark for the unit of 50% or more.

  • Planning literature search and critically reviewing literature
  • Deciding research methodology appropriate for data collection and analysis
  • Developing an action plan to accomplish the research within timeline
  • Writing up a synopsis outlining the research questions and objectives
