Aims and objectives
To provide students with the required aviation theoretical knowledge in the areas of Flight Planning and Performance & Loading for the Air Transport Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) as detailed in the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 61 Manual of Standards (MOS).
Unit Learning Outcomes (ULOs):
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Explain the flight planning and performance considerations that affect flying operations at the Air Transport Pilot Level.
2. Safely and accurately plan a flight, including performance & loading calculations, for the Boeing 727 according to CASA flight planning requirements.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the unit content sufficient to pass the CASA Air Transport Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) Theory Examinations for Flight Planning and Performance & Loading.
