Overview

This unit of study aims to integrate 3D production techniques to design an advanced 3D animated outcome. Students will identify and apply industry best practice to inform project development. This knowledge may be applied to commercial outcomes in the film, special effects, animation and computer game industries.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Organise, manage and perform key roles and activities within a production environment by efficiently and effectively working independently or in collaboration
  • Apply development and pre-visualisation techniques to construct a proof of concept and project pipeline
  • Integrate specialist knowledge and techniques to design and construct aspects of a three-dimensional animation outcome
  • Evaluate production work flows and the application of tools, techniques and principles to an animated sequence by participating in peer review activities
  • Show professional competencies in the field of three-dimensional computer animation, design and storytelling by authoring a fully resolved three-dimensional animated production
