The Bachelor of Computer Science (Professional) focuses on developing expertise in software development and computer science.
You'll develop skills in a range of contemporary approaches to the analysis, design and implementation of large-scale systems, along with a sound understanding of the traditional aspects of computer science such as hardware and operating systems.
The course pays particular attention to the human factors involved in the development, deployment and use of computer-based systems.
All our bachelor degrees include a guaranteed Work Integrated Learning opportunity, which could be a placement, internship or industry-linked project.
This Professional Degree includes a mandatory 12-month paid work placement. You'll benefit from Swinburne’s unique industry partnerships, gain invaluable full-time work experience and earn credit towards your degree.
In your final year, in the units Software Engineering Project A and B (SWE40001 and SWE40002), you’ll team up with other students to work on a real project briefed to you by an industry or community partner.
