Pre-Accelerator Program

The Pre-Accelerator Program is a 5 week program designed to help founders take an idea or early stage startup to the next level by testing their product to see if there is a viable market.

Overview

The program includes workshops, guest presenters, activities, networking, plus an opportunity to do individual pitch coaching sessions with the IP team. 


Participants will learn the fundamentals of launching a startup including:  

  • Setting up a business
  • Refining your lean canvas
  • Customer interviewing
  • Sales & marketing
  • Funding for startups
  • Accounting and legal. 

 

The Pre-Accelerator Program is perfect for you if…

  • You are a team with an idea or an early stage startup.
  • Your startup is in prototype or moving towards MVP stage.
  • You are looking for experienced facilitators to guide the next steps of your startup journey.
  • You are a sole founder, have already participated in another accelerator or your startup has already taken investment.

 

Training sessions 

Our workshops will have plenty of opportunities to share observations and insights.

Participants are required to attend all sessions and complete 1-2 hours of homework related to the content each week (including preparing for week 1).

 

Program Dates – 8 May to 5 June

Week 1, 8 May – Startup Fundamentals and Lean Canvas

Learn about the fundamentals of launching your startup and see how you can transform your business idea into a one-page business plan that investors would want to see!

Week 2, 15 May – Customer Interviews and Legal Fundamentals

Find out how you can test your idea and find valuable information from your customers. We will also spend some time covering the legal information handy to know when creating your startup.

Week 3, 22 May – Sales and Marketing Basics and Pitching

Master the art of being able to communicate your idea and vision to a broad range of stakeholders, and importantly finding those customers willing to pay!

Week 4, 29 May – Fundraising, Accounting Basics and Peer Pitching

Learn how to raise funds and manage your costs to sustain your business from industry experts. We will also continue to refine your pitches in this week.

Week 5, 5 June – Canvas and Pitch Night

We will celebrate the conclusion of this program by showcasing your refined canvas and pitching skills for your startup or idea.
