Follow food along the digestive tract and learn how it is moved and broken down inside our bodies. Find out why it is important to eat vegetables while we make fake poo together. Note – you will be given the opportunity to touch real pig tongue, stomach and intestines. (1 hour)

Investigate the strength and direction of the invisible pushes and pulls caused by magnetism. Sort mystery objects, move trains, confuse compasses and learn a few tricks using an assortment of magnets. (1 hour)

Join palaeontologist and artist, Ruairidh Duncan, in this unique palaeoart workshop. Use fossils to reconstruct prehistoric marine creatures, including whales. Improve your scientific and artistic skills at the same time! (1 hr)

Prepare to launch! Experiment with angles to create your maximum flight distance. Test indoor and outdoor designs, using air and water to power your rockets.  (1 hour)

Explore the world of plastics, molecules and polymers, discovering the unique uses of each plastic type. Learn how to make gelatin-based bioplastic, then test out the properties of this environmentally friendly plastic. Go beyond simply looking at plastics as a waste material. (1 hour)

Look closely! At the surface some very peculiar things begin to happen as molecules make friends and enemies. Investigate the intriguing chemistry of surface tension using a variety of hands-on experiments. (1 hour)

Welcome to chemistry! An introduction to laboratory skills for young scientists. Wear a lab coat and safety glasses while using specialised equipment including test tubes, pipettes and measuring cylinders, as you experiment with fizzing, bubbling and colour changing materials.  (1 hr)

Let’s go fly a kite! Find out about all the important parts of a kite, learn more about wind and make your own kite to take home.  (1 hour)

Step inside the inflatable dome and head into space. Explore the night sky, our Solar System and beyond! Session includes night sky live presentation (inside dome) and short film (inside dome), plus hands-on activities (outside dome). Note – children will be in a dark, enclosed space while adults remain outside so please consider the suitability of this for your child before booking. Children may experience motion sickness.
