Hawthorn Library LateLab is now open!

We're excited to announce that the Latelab on Level 1 Hawthorn Library is now open! With 24-hour access, new study spaces, access to computers, vending machines and places to plug in your laptop - we've got everything you need to improve your focus and help you prepare.

Your new and improved Hawthorn Library

Your student experience matters to us. That's why we have taken your feedback on board and have created 2 levels of fully refurbished space, with key services for the Swinburne community housed within the one central location.

Latelab (Level 1) is now open

We are excited to announce that Hawthorn Latelab is now complete! Come along and have a look at our modern, revamped Latelab space, with over 200 PCs to use, print and copy facilities, bookable meeting rooms, casual seating, vending machine and our Rover team all now located on level 1.

Hawthorn Latelab has a brand new 24 hour opening via John Street. This entry will gain you access during the day into the library and your Swinburne ID will give you swipe access outside of Library hours into the Latelab.

Services now accessible on Level 1:

  • Bookable PCs
  • Bookable meeting rooms
  • Rovers
  • Vending Machines
  • Print & Copy
  • Casual seating
  • Collaboration spaces

Access update

You can access Level 2 from the Atrium, as well as via the brand new entrance on McLeod Lane (between AMDC and the library).

The Library will also still be accessible from AMDC via the walkway (Level 3 AMDC, Level 4 Library) during Library hours. Latelab will be accessible via John Street.

We are continuing with the improvements

Please keep checking this website to keep updated for further works on the Hawthorn Library, and look out for directional signage and ask one of the team if you need any help.
