What is a Confirmation of Enrolment?

A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) serves as proof of your enrolment at Swinburne, which will be issued when we are satisfied that you meet Australian regulatory requirements.

If you're coming to Australia to start your course, you need a CoE from Swinburne to apply for your student visa. If you're already studying at Swinburne as an international student, you may also need a revised CoE in certain situations.

CoE for commencing students

We will normally send you a CoE within one week of receiving your offer acceptanceuniversity deposit and any additional documents listed on your letter of offer. You can then use the CoE from Swinburne for your student visa application to study in Australia.

If you have been offered more than one course, you will receive a CoE for each course you have accepted. You must provide all CoEs to the Department of Home Affairs as part of your visa application.

CoE for deferring students

All deferral requests from international students are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

If approved, a variation offer letter will be issued for the next available intake. Where required, students may need to pay additional Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). A revised Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will then be issued to support the visa application for the deferred intake.

If you need assistance with your CoE application, contact Student HQ by calling +61 3 9214 6741 or 1300 794 628, or by emailing askgeorgeisa@swinburne.edu.au
