Professor Aleksander Subic is Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Development at Swinburne University of Technology.Professor Aleksandar Subic

Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Development

Professor Aleksandar Subic is internationally recognised for his research in engineering product design and advanced manufacturing, and is one of the founders of sports engineering.

In April 2016, Aleksandar was appointed to the Prime Minister’s Industry 4.0 Taskforce alongside other industry luminaries.

Former Director of Research Translation at Monash University, Dr John Morrison brings more than 15 years of experience in research engagement and commercialisation, along with experience launching high-impact startups. John’s past roles have included COO of the Monash FODMAP venture and business lead on the Monash eHealth Initiative and Pfizer alliance.

Director Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Elicia coordinates engagement activities for the five research institutes and our research centres with a focus on commercial potential. Drawing on her decade of experience as a tech entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, Elicia facilitates collaborations with partners there and across the USA, and oversees the Entrepreneur in Residence Program, which brings mentors from Silicon Valley to Melbourne.

Director Commercial Innovation Programs

Lisian brings her experience as the Development Manager at MAP, the startup accelerator at the University of Melbourne, where she was responsible for key entrepreneurial education programs and coaching startup founders.

Prior to working with startups, Lisian was a lawyer at an international law firm.

Sarah Byrne is Communications Advisor at Swinburne's Innovation Precinct.Sarah Byrne

Communications Advisor

Sarah joined Swinburne in mid-2018, having previously held the role of Communications Coordinator at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. Before moving into communications, Sarah was a journalist, specialising in the resources sector.
