Rosemary Simpson Scholarship 2026
The Rosemary Simpson Scholarship has been established by the Jolimont Foundation to assist students from rural and regional areas to undertake and complete an undergraduate degree. The aim is to support and enable them to achieve their full potential by reducing the need to work outside of study.
The Foundation is offering up to two scholarships in 2026 to students in either first or second year.
The Rosemary Simpson scholarship is valued at up to $50,000 with $10,000 paid annually for up to 5 years.
Courses eligible
Any on-campus undergraduate degree at Swinburne University of Technology.
Eligibility / selection criteria
To be eligible for the Rosemary Simpson Scholarship, applicants must:
- Meet the following criteria:
- Australian citizen
- Meet the following enrolment criteria:
- be a commencing first or continuing second year Swinburne student in Semester 1, 2026.
- enrolled full time
- preference will be given to Year 12 school leavers
- Demonstrate that you have relocated from a rural and regional area in order to study at Swinburne
- Refer to Rural and Regional Calculator to determine your geographic classification.
- Submit a personal statement of up to 500 words or a 1 - 2 minute video outlining:
- leadership qualities and/or community participation
- Upload your video to cloud based storage (google drive/one drive/drop box) and provide the link in a MS Word or PDF document. Ensure the video is downloadable by anyone and not access restricted.

- Provide evidence of educational disadvantage, which may fall under the categories listed below. To assist you, we’ve included a link to the VTAC website for further guidance on preparing your evidence.

Difficult family and life circumstances - Provide a written reference from a teacher, community leader, or employer. Note: referees cannot be a family member or friend.
Value
The scholarships are valued at $10,000 per year for the normal duration of the degree for up to a maximum of five years. Funds will be paid bi-annually each year.
Up to two scholarships may be offered in 2026.
